| What things have gone wrong with the car? | Not so nice plastic interior Weak 4 cyl engine.(Get the 6 cyl if you've got a heavy foot) Crummy trade-in value | |
| General comments? | I own a 99 base S model with the inline 4 cyl and 5 speed tranny in Green mica. The payment on the 6 cyl LS model was something I couldn't swing at the time. I've added some major accessories like; manik brush guard, factory bug deflector, rear taillight covers, factory foglights, factory side steps and an after market sound system(cuz the factory system was designed by deaf engineers) . The problems I've had are an ABS module that would stay on after switching off the ignition, which was covered by the warranty. In addition, a check engine light that decided to turn on by itself, since the dealership reset it, it's never gone off again. Lastly, at cruising speeds over 65 mph, the steering wheel transmits a slight vibration, which based on other reviews, sounds like a common problem. All in all, if I would have paid over $25k, which is what most suv's are going for nowadays, I would have had more reasons to complain, but for $18k, it's been more good than bad......... | |
