| | Model | Isuzu Rodeo | | | What things have gone wrong with the car? | Oil consumption, oil consumption, more oil consumption. In my travels, I have talked to every Isuzu Rodeo owner that I have come into contact with, and have heard the same story over and over. 1 qt. of oil consumption per 500-1500 miles. My Rodeo uses a qt every 1000 miles city, and one qt about every 600 miles highway. This is pathetic. I thought that kind of problem was solved in the late 50's. Apparently, Isuzu assumes no responsibility for this blatently obvious defect. Most people that I have talked to about this issue say that they would never buy Isuzu again because of the oil issue.
Rest assured that I have had my engine checked thoroughly for leaks, and there are none.
Next issue; cost of parts. I have never owned a vehicle that cost so much for repairs. Most parts that i have had to replace on my Isuzu had to be ordered from the dealer (air conditioner compressor, fan motor assembly, 4 WD auto engaging hubs) and cost a fortune. I had previously owned an Isuzu Pup pickup several years ago and was very pleased with it. Based on that truck, I thought that the Rodeo would be a good vehicle. Boy was I wrong. | | | | |
| | | General comments? | Overall, I think the vehicle is a pleasure to drive. But that's where it ends. |
